Dhaka Bureau: Due to Cyclone Mokha, the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has announced the suspension of all types of inland waterway traffic until further notice.
Deputy Director of BIWTA Mobarak Hossain Majumder said that there are already different signals in different districts on the inland river. Along with this, all types of boating have been suspended until further notice.
Meanwhile, the speed of supercyclone Mokha in the Bay of Bengal is increasing. At the same time, its distance from the coast of Bangladesh is decreasing.
On Saturday evening, the front of this cyclone will start affecting Cox’s Bazar and nearby coastal areas.
Maximum sustained wind speed is 160 km/h within 74 km of the center of Mokha, increasing to 175 km/h in gusty form. The sea is very rough in the area near the center.
