Own Reporter: Chittagong Metropolitan BNP convener Dr. Shahadat Hossain said that Ziaur Rahman appeared like a bright star when the nation was left without a leader due to the failure of Awami League on the black night of 25 March 1971. Amidst such uncertainty, he declared rebellion against the Pak Bahini in Sholshahar Biplab Udyan. On that day, many Awami League leaders left for neighboring countries. Ziaur Rahman came forward to liberate this leaderless nation. He started the liberation war by declaring independence from the Kalurghat radio station. He led the liberation war and fought with arms. Due to his talent and ability, he has held the responsibility of two sectors. Bir Uttam Ziaur Rahman was the captain of Z Force. This is history. There can be no other statement beyond this. But the Awami League is now teaching the new generation the distorted and false history of the liberation war. New generation will not forgive Awamiliga for teaching false history.
He said these things at the pre-rally assembly and wreath-laying ceremony of Chittagong Metropolitan BNP at Biplab Udyan in Sholshahar on Monday (November 7) morning on the occasion of National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
He also said that the politics of post-independence Bangladesh turned into a one-party authoritarian regime at a stage of becoming authoritarian. Following this, on November 3, 1975, a part of the army was inspired by the idea of hegemony the then chief staff officer of the army, Ziaur Rahman, was imprisoned in the cantonment with his family. He was confined in the cantonment till November 6. On November 7, he was freed by the Sepoy Janata revolution. Bangladeshi nationalism and multi-party democracy started in the country through November 7 revolution. But in today’s Bangladesh people’s right to vote, democracy and there is no public safety. The country and the nation are going through a period of extreme transition today. The ruling government has strangled democracy by disenfranchising the people. Therefore, everyone should come down to the streets to demand the resignation of the current undemocratic government by creating mass awakening in the spirit of November 7.
Abul Hashem Bakkar, Member Secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan BNP, said that multi-party democracy would not have been established if November 7 was not created. Democracy has now become a historical term. Because there is no such thing as democracy in the country. Dictatorship is going on in the country Hegemony In such a situation, the patriotic people should come forward to restore democracy, protect independence and sovereignty, energized by the spirit of November 7 revolution.
