City Reporter: Chittagong district administration organized an exchange meeting on the implementation and progress of Smart Chittagong in the circuit house conference room of the city on Monday (May 08) morning. Information and Communication Technology Department Secretary Samsul Arefin was present as the chief guest in the meeting.
Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Dr. was present as a special guest. Aminur Rahman.
At the beginning of the meeting, ICT Secretary inaugurated a smart licensing app for all types of license management under Chittagong district administration.
Now through Smart Licensing apps one can apply for license at home. Customers can also complete the license renewal process at home by paying the prescribed fee.
Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman presented a power point presentation on the various steps taken by the district administration to implement Smart Chittagong.
He said that the district administration has already taken several steps to make Chittagong the first smart district of Bangladesh in view of Prime Minister’s Smart Bangladesh Building Vision 2041. Among which formation of Smart Chittagong implementation cell in the Deputy Commissioner’s office, appointment of focal person in various government offices, addition of Smart Chittagong dedicated corner on the website, announcement of Smart Chittagong Best Idea Award, organization of bootcamp on ideas, organization of Idea Showcase and Smart Bangladesh Festival, creation of expert panel, smart The Roadmap of Chittagong 2041 is one of them.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner presented the future action plan for the implementation of Smart Chittagong.
In the chief guest’s speech, the ICT Secretary appreciated all the initiatives of Chittagong district administration and assured to provide all kinds of cooperation to the ICT department for the implementation of Smart Chittagong. He emphasized on building a smart society by transforming citizens into smart citizens and using smart technology in government services. Expressing excitement about the activities undertaken by the district administration of Chittagong with Smart Chittagong Roadmap, the ICT Secretary emphasized in his speech: The new generation should know about quantum computation and fusion energy.
Officials of the Divisional Commissioner’s office, district administration officials, brave freedom fighters, journalists and media persons were present in the exchange meeting.
Earlier, certificates and laptops were distributed among the young ladies who successfully completed the course of Earning and Learning project at Ladies Club premises at 11 am.
