Dhaka Bureau: A mild earthquake has been felt in the capital Dhaka and its surrounding districts. Today, Friday (05 May) at 5:57 am, the earthquake was felt. However, no damage was immediately reported.
According to USGS, the magnitude of the earthquake was 4.3 on the Richter scale. Its origin was in Doha, about 42 km away from Dhaka. And the depth from the surface was 10 km.
Farzana Sultana, assistant meteorologist of the Department of Meteorology, said that the earthquake was felt at 5:57:80 this morning. Its origin was in Doha, Dhaka. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.3. It is a mild type of earthquake in the earthquake category.
Earlier on April 30, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was felt in Chittagong. The origin of the earthquake was in Maulai, Myanmar.
