Bashir Al mamun, city reporter: Another child has been brutally killed in Chittagong city. The body of an 11-year-old boy named Rahim was recovered five days after he went missing in West Mohra under Chandgaon Police Station. The body of the child was recovered from the under-construction building at Mazar Gate of the local rose shop yesterday, Wednesday (03 May).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandgaon Police Station Khairul Islam confirmed the matter on Thursday (04 May) afternoon.
Rahim is the son of Salim Uddin of that area. He was a class five student of West Mohra Government Primary School. Chandgaon Police has arrested 2 people on the charge of killing baby Rahim. The arrested are Azam Khan and Hridoy.
Chandgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khairul Islam told The Crime that Shishu Rahim was abducted on the afternoon of April 29 under the leadership of his neighbor Azam Khan for money. On the same day, the child was taken to the building under construction and killed. After that, holes were dug and buried. The child’s father filed a general diary at the police station on the day he went missing.
He also said that Azam Khan was detained and interrogated on Wednesday. Based on his information, the body of baby Rahim was recovered at around 3 pm. The body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
A police officer involved in the recovery operation told The Crime that the child Rahim was kidnapped by Azam Khan for money. Rahim was in good physical shape. Baby Rahim recognizes Azam. The child also had a fight with Azam Khan. At one point, Rahim was taken to a building under construction and beaten to death with a piece of wood. After the murder, the killer buried Rahim’s body in a hole.
