Anwara Representative: Chittagong Divisional Construction Workers Union Anwara Upazila Branch organized a discussion meeting and rally on the occasion of International Labor Day on Monday, May 1. At ten in the morning, the construction workers took out a rally from Sadar station of Anwara upazila and met in a discussion meeting at Kalabibi Dighi intersection.
Mohammad Syed, general secretary of the Anwara Upazila Jatiya Sramik League, was the chief guest at the discussion held under the chairmanship of Anwara Upazila Nirman Sramik Union President Mohammad Jasim Uddin.
Chittagong South District Jatiya Sramik League Vice President Adhir Ranjan Sheel delivered the inaugural address. Upazila Sramik League Vice President Alhaj Mamunur Rashid was the special guest. Upazila Joint Secretary Md. Ayub Ali, Upazila Organizing Secretary Mobarak Hossain, Upazila Volunteer League Organizing Secretary Al Zakir, Deputy Manager of Diamond Cement Industries Limited Mosharf Hossain, and General Secretary of Anwara Nirman Sramik Union Mohammad Touhidul Islam.
Imdadul Haque Sajib moderated the speech of senior members of the Chittagong Divisional Construction Workers Union: Mohammad Solaiman, Mohammad Forkan, Mohammad Shahid, Moktar, Maruf, Nuruchchafa, Lokman, Khalil, Anwar Chowdhury, Abu Bakkar, Mubin, Bakhtiar, Tauhid, Siraj, and Jasim Uddin. Chief guest Mohammad Syed said today is Workers’ Rights Day.
Everyone should strive to achieve the rights of the workers in unity. The Awami League government is a worker-friendly government. The government has taken various steps for the development of workers. Lands Minister Alhaj Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed MP is sincere towards the workers.
