Drone operation in Rohingya camp

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Police of the 16-Armed Police Battalion (APBN) conducted a drone operation in mountainous areas, including five Rohingya camps in Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar, to catch terrorists. Eight people were arrested, along with weapons and drugs.

From Sunday morning to noon, operations were conducted in several inaccessible hills, including Leda, Alikhali, Shalbagan, Jadimura, and Nayapara, where Rohingya registered camps in Teknaf. The operation was led by 16-APBN Captain (Additional DIG) Hasan Bari Noor.

In this regard, the police superintendent of 16-APBN is in charge of the Rohingya camp in Teknaf. Jamal Pasha said, “We conducted a special operation with drones in five Rohingya camps under the leadership of Additional DIG sir to catch the terrorists in the hills. In this, the hideouts of terrorists in the mountains are identified through drones.

He further said that later, eight people were arrested by a commando team in the hills. A shooter gun and 760 pieces of yaba were recovered from them. Besides, three people were arrested from the camp. There are various cases against them, including drugs and weapons. In those cases, they have been arrested and handed over to the police station.
