Madaripur Correspondent: The driver-helper was killed in a collision between two trucks in Shivchar, Madaripur. Deputy Inspector of Shibchar Highway Police Abdullah Hale Baki confirmed the matter.
The accident took place on Monday (May 1) around 4 a.m. in the Pacchar Bakherekandi area of the expressway. The deceased are Bashir Howlader (36), son of Rashid Howladar of Shyampur area of Bakherganj upazila of Barisal, and Md. Sujalpur Vekutia area of Kotyali upazila of Jessore. Son of Mizan Mia. Sujan Mia (26).
Shibchar Highway Police sources said that when a truck carrying bangi left from Bakherganj in Barisal for Dhaka broke down in the Bakherarkandi area near Panchchar Expressway, driver Bashir was going under the truck to repair it. At that time, when another truck from Jessore rammed the truck from behind, the driver, Bashir, who was under the truck, died on the spot, and Sujan, the helper of the other truck, also died.
Shibchar Highway Police Sub-Inspector Abdullah Hal Baki said, “We went to the accident site and recovered the bodies of the victims after receiving the information.” The driver of the overturned truck and the helper of the truck that was hit from behind died. The bodies of the victims and the two trucks are in the custody of the Highway Police.
