Own Correspondent: There is no use in turning to foreigners, elections must be held under a caretaker government. After exchanging Eid greetings with journalists at his residence at Dewanji Pond in Chittagong yesterday, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud MP said these things.

In response to the statement of BNP. Hasan Mahmud MP said, BNP’s condition is like a frog. Frog animal is small, the sound is very loud. Frogs make loud noises when they are submerged in water during monsoons. BNP has massaged the hands and feet of foreigners but to no avail. There is no trust in those who trusted. That’s why BNP is frustrated and making big noises like frogs.

At that time Deputy Minister of Education Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel, Awami League Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary, Former Mayor AJM Nashir Uddin, Chittagong North District Awami League President MA Salam, South District Awami League. General Secretary Mofizur Rahman, Panel Chairman of Zilla Parishad Abul Kashem Chishti, Vice President of Central Sramik League Safar Ali were present.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, BNP has paid agents all over the world. Audio clips of them sending money to various agents have been leaked. This is how they are using social media to spread propaganda against the country. When these are not working, BNP has attacked the media. Media is not getting bad news against the government in many cases. It is not being served because it is not getting anymore. This attack of Mirza Fakhrul is not against the government, but against the media. Mirza Fakhrul is saying these words out of extreme frustration.

The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that in fact the whole world is praising the Prime Minister’s leadership. A joint survey by Nikkei Institute and Bloomberg says that despite the Corona pandemic, Bangladesh is ranked 5th in the world and 1st in the subcontinent. Also in this our per capita income surpasses that of India. It has been praised in India and Pakistan. There has been criticism of their politicians and rulers in the media of India and Pakistan. But in our country the flower basket of praise has not flowed, this is the reality.

The minister also said that when there is a recession in the whole world, there is a shortage of products in Europe. In our country, despite the increase in prices, there is no shortage of products. When there was famine in Bengal, 1 maund of rice was available for 6 rupees. Yet people could not buy the product. Now a rickshaw puller can buy 10 to 15 kg of coarse rice with his 1 day wages. So with the increase in the price of goods in the country, the purchasing power has also increased.

Dr. MP Hasan Mahmud said that there is a silent famine among the people of the country. In response to Mirza Fakhrul’s question, the minister said that the exponential growth of the media has taken place at the hands of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. When we formed the government in 2009, there were 450 daily newspapers, 10 television channels. And now 1260 newspapers and 36 channels are on air. Channels and magazines have become job fields for journalism students in various universities. But it is sad that even though the media is spread by the hands of the true Prime Minister, we always see that the development activities of the current government are not properly disclosed in the media. But in many cases bad news is given too much importance.
