Patuakhali Correspondent: Like every year, the traditional Ras Leela of Sanatan religious people will be held at Kalapara and Kuakata in Patuakhali. Thousands of devotees will come to this universal festival.
Sri Sri Madan Mohan Sevashram and Sri Sri Radhakrishna Temple adjacent to Kuakata Beach in Andharmanik Nadi Lagoa Paur Town have been decorated in a new style. Members of law enforcement will be in the field for overall security of pilgrims coming to Ras Leela.
Parimal Das, the priest of Sri Sri Madan Mohan Sevashram of Kalapara, said that Radha Krishna’s supreme love was done on Purnima Tithi by sitting Kangsha King in the Dwapara era to protect humanity. Since then, the Rasa festival has been in vogue. However, in the desire for the victory of truth and beauty, traditional religious people have been celebrating Ras festival in Kalapara for almost two hundred years. In continuation of this, on Sunday (November 6) at nine o’clock in the night, the ceremony of Ras Puja will begin. The next day, Monday, the full moon will begin at 4:23 PM. It will be next Tuesday until 4:19 PM. As soon as the sun rises in the eastern sky on this date, the pilgrims will finish their Ganga bath at Kuakata beach. After that they will visit the 17 pairs of Radha Krishna idols in the courtyard of the temple. Bathing in the Ganges will get rid of sins and will fulfill the desires of the devotees. We hope that all the evil forces of the country will be removed.
Kuakata Sri Sri Radhakrishna Mandir General Secretary Nihar Ranjan Mondal said that 17 pairs of idols have already been prepared on the occasion of Ras Purnima. Apart from this, pandal arrangement and lighting work is also at the final stage. Many pilgrims have already started coming to Kuakata.
Mohipur police station OC Abul Khair said, on the occasion of Ras Purnima, our additional patrol team will be deployed. Besides, police will be deployed at various tourist spots to avoid any untoward incident.
Kalapara upazila executive officer Shankar Chandra Vaidya said that the upazila administration is trying its best to ensure all kinds of security for pilgrims coming to Kuakata. I hope this Ras Mela will be completed smoothly.
