Nurul Islam: The police arrested two people along with four thousand pieces of Yaba after searching the bus on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in the Jangailla area of Chunti Union in Lohagara of south Chittagong. On Monday, April 10, at 11:30 p.m., the Lohagara Thana police arrested two smugglers, including Yaba, after searching the Chittagong city-bound passenger bus.
The arrested persons are Mohammad Abu Taher (42) of Madhyakaladi Mollabari of Ward No. 3 of Matlab Municipality of Dakshin Chandpur and Mohammad Jamsed (23) of Peshkar Para of Ward No. 9 of Cox’s Bazar Municipality.
Atiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station, said that the bus was searched after receiving information that the drug traffickers were coming from Cox’s Bazar. Yaba was found with the arrested persons during the search of the Lohagara police station. In this regard, a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against two of them at the Lohagara police station.
