10 gold bars recovered from an airport dustbin

Dhaka Bureau: 10 gold bars wrapped in scotch tape have been recovered from the dustbin adjacent to baggage belt number 5 at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital. The Armed Police Battalion (APBN) recovered the gold on Monday afternoon.

APBN Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Ziaul Haque said that two suspicious objects wrapped in scotch tape were found inside the dustbin.

10 gold bars (weighing 116 grams each) were recovered from both objects in the presence of all agencies. The total weight of which is 1 kg, 160 grams. The market value of the bars is around Tk 1 crore.

APBN’s Additional Superintendent of Police also said that the recovered gold bars have been deposited in the customs warehouse after taking legal action.
