Manikganj Correspondent: The former general secretary of Manikganj District Bar and former organizing secretary of Upazila Awami League died in a road accident in Singair, Manikganj. Md. Lutfar Rahman, the former president of Singair Upazila Jubo League, and Chhatra League apprentice lawyer Md. Monir Hossain were seriously injured. He is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU at Savar Enam Medical College Hospital.
The accident took place on Tuesday (April 4) around 3:30 in the afternoon at the Govindal bus stand area of Singair town headquarters on the Hemayetpur-Singair-Manikganj regional highway, which is known as a death trap.
Eyewitnesses said that after performing professional duties in Manikganj Court, Adv. Md. Lutfar Rahman is an apprentice lawyer driving his own private car. Monir was returning to his home in Singair with Hossain. At that time, when Gobindal reached the bus stand area, the car lost control and fell into the ditch on the south side of the road. Both occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured. Locals rescued the injured and first took them to Singair Upazila Health Complex. As the condition of the injured was serious, they were later admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar. Among the two, Monir Hossain is currently under treatment in the ICU as his condition is critical. On the other hand, Adv. Md. Lutfar Rahman is being treated in a general bed.
No case has been filed until the writing of this report. However, Singair police station OC Syed Mizanur Islam said that the police visited the spot.
