Deputy Tax Commissioner arrested with Tk 10 lakh bribe

Rajshahi Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested Deputy Tax Commissioner Mohibul Islam Bhuiyan in a raid at the Rajshahi Income Tax Office. At this time, 10 lakhs in bribes were recovered from him. The tax office was raided on Tuesday, April 4, around 11:30 a.m. ACC Rajshahi Divisional Director Kamrul Ahsan confirmed this information.
 
Meanwhile, ACC officials were attacked during the operation. When the ACC went to raid the office of Deputy Tax Commissioner Mohibul Islam Bhuiyan, the employees tried to obstruct the door by breaking it down the employees tried to obstruct the door by breaking it down. Deputy Tax Commissioner Mohibuler Islam Bhuiyan said that a doctor named Fatema Siddiqa has hidden information about 26 crores worth of wealth. He (Dr. Fatema) hanged him when he went to work on it. Dr. Fatema brought Tk 10 lakh and ACC officials to the office and arrested them in an organized operation. ACC officials also beat him.
 
ACC official Kamrul Ahsan said Mohibul Islam Bhuiyan demanded a bribe of Tk 60 lakh from a doctor. On Tuesday, he was caught red-handed while taking Tk 10 lakh of the first installment of bribe. Legal action will be taken against the detained tax officer.
