Dhaka Bureau: The decision to use electronic voting machines (EVM) in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections may be taken today. The decision may come from the commission’s meeting, which will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (March 3) in the conference hall of the election building in Agargaon, the capital.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal will preside over the meeting. The EC Secretary and senior officials, along with four other commissioners, will be present in the meeting.
It is known that several important decisions may be taken today. Among these are city corporation elections, discussions on the use of EVMs in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections, policies for journalists or media workers responsible for collecting election news, approval of the agreement executed with Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory (BMTF), and others.
