Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Miscreants shot and killed a Rohingya youth named Hafez Syed Alam from his house in Ukhia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. This incident happened in Rohingya Camp-8 West Block early this morning.

The deceased Syed Alam was the son of Noor Islam of that camp. Regarding the relatives of the deceased, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Ukhia police station, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, said that an armed group of 8–10 people caught Syed Alam from his house, shot him, and killed him by slitting his throat. Syed Alam used to campaign against terrorist activities in the camp. Everyone initially thought that he might be killed for working to create public opinion that it is necessary to stop criminal activities in the camp in order to return to his home country.

The OC also said that with the help of the APBN in charge of the camp, his body was recovered from the spot and sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.

On Wednesday too, an old man was killed and a child was shot dead by miscreants. Several others were injured.
