Nurul Islam: Police arrested 3 persons, including 7 thousand pieces of Yaba, in 2 separate raids in Lohagara, South Chittagong. Two motorcycles used in yaba smuggling were seized in the operation.
Last Friday, March 31, at 8:30 p.m., two people were arrested on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in the Jangailla area of Chunti Union of Lohagara Upazila with 6,500 pitch yabas. At this time, one motorcycle used by the detainees was seized.
These yaba are found inside the filter box under the seat of this motorcycle. The detainees brought Yaba from Cox’s Bazar to Lohagara. Tanvirul Hasan (22) of Sukhchari village in the Amirabad union of Lohagara upazila and Sakhawat Hossain (19) of Rabichand para in the Kalauzhan union were arrested in the raid.
In another operation, one person named Abdur Rahim (36) was arrested by the police along with 500 yabas at around 4:30 am on Saturday, April 1. He was arrested along with 1 motorcycle on the road of Haji Para (Butcher’s Quarter) area of Barahatia Union of Lohagara Upazila. He is a resident of that area.
In this regard, two separate cases have been filed against the detainees at the Lohagara police station. Atiqur Rahman, the officer in charge of the police station, gave this information.
