Dhaka Bureau: A human chain program was held in front of the National Press Club on Saturday morning by the Kazi Aref Foundation to protest various irregularities, corruption, unserviced temple management, and the appointment of an administrator with the intervention of the Prime Minister.

Chairman of Bangladesh National Human Rights Association Swapan Kumar Saha, vice president of NAP Bangladesh, spoke as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Kazi Masood Ahmed, chairman of the Kazi Aref Foundation, moderated by Manjur Hossain Isa. Affected families of Dhakeswari Temple and leaders of various organizations participated in the human chain program.

In the speech of the chief guest, Swapan Kumar Saha said that the case related to the land of Sri Sri Dhakeswari National Temple has been going on in the court for ages. 18 years ago, in the name of temple renovation, the family of the real owner of the land and serviceman Ranjit Das were evicted. The honorable prime minister also once promised to settle the matter. But due to the conspiracies and bad advice of the influential Hindu religious figures on the temple management committee, the family of Ranjit Das is still deprived of justice and its rights to the land. The chief guest strongly condemned and protested against the various corruptions of the temple and the management of the temple without services. He immediately proposed the formation of a powerful national commission of inquiry to protect the reputation and dignity of Dhakeswari Temple. He also said that the ACC, Bangladesh Bank, and Ministry of Religion should form a strong cell to find ways to solve the existing problems.

In the President’s speech, Kazi Masud Ahmed said that there is a ruling of the High Court regarding the land dispute of Sri Sri Dhakeswari Temple. All problems can be solved only if this rule is settled quickly. He appealed to the government to stand by the bereaved family of Ranjit Das in the interest of establishing the rule of law and justice.
