Shooting again in the Rohingya camp, 1 killed

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A Rohingya named Syed Alam (60) was killed in the firing between two terrorist groups in the Ukhiyar camp of Cox’s Bazar. A child was also injured.

The incident took place at Kutupalong Camp-8 W in Ukhia in the early hours of Saturday. Deceased Syed Alam Kutupalong, Camp-8 WR A/42 Block Pocha Bazar area, was the son of deceased Mohammad Hasim. The injured child, Taifur (12), is the son of Nurul Amin of Sub Block D-5 of the same camp.

Confirming the incident of death in the firing, Ukhia Police Station OC Sheikh Mohammad Ali said that the police went to the spot and recovered the body of one person and sent it to the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for a post-mortem.

In this regard, additional DIG Syed Harunur Rashid, commander of the 14 Amord Police Battalion, said that there was an incident of intermittent shooting at Camp-8 W in the morning. Later, APBN and police went and brought the situation under control. At this time, one body had been recovered from the scene. Apart from this, a 12-year-old child was rescued with injuries and is being treated at the hospital.
