Banshkhali Correspondent: After the police arrested 5 drug dealers with 20 thousand pieces of Yaba tablets in Chittagong’s Banshkhali, two cases were filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act 2018, and they were sent to jail on Thursday (March 30). Kamal Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Banskhali police station, confirmed the matter.
Earlier on Wednesday (March 29), based on secret information, Yaba tablets were recovered by searching the bags of five suspected passengers on the road during the CNG autorickshaw search at the checkpoint on the main road in the Pekua border bridge area of South Puichhari.
According to the police, five passengers were arrested along with 20 thousand pieces of Yaba tablets after searching the bodies and bags of the CNG autorickshaw passengers from Cox’s Bazar towards Chittagong at the Tana Bridge area at the Banskhali-Pekua border.
The arrested are: Kutupalong Registered Rohingya Camp, Block No. D, Sed No. 18, Rajapalong Union, Ukhia Upazila, Cox’s Bazar District (Fazor Rahman Majhir), Md. Nazir’s son Ramzan Mubarak (24), son of Jafar Alam of South Tuturbil village of the 1st Ward of Rajapalong Union. Sahabuddin (28), Selina Akhter (27), wife of Dil Mohammad of Safran’s 2nd Ward in Teknaf Upazila, and Abdul Hamid, son of Abul Hossain of Habib Chara Abul Hossain’s house, Abdul (40), Samraj Molla (52), son of Siraj Molla of Ward No. 4, Bajitpur Municipality, Madaripur Sadar Upazila, Madaripur District
Kamal Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Banskhali Police Station, said, based on secret information, the drug dealers are traveling from Cox’s Bazar Ukhia to Chittagong via Banskhali Regional Road using the Chakaria road. On the basis of such information, the CNG autorickshaw was stopped in the South Puichhari Tana Bridge area at the checkpoint, and the bags of five suspected passengers were searched. During the search, 20 thousand pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered, and five businessmen were arrested. Later, a case was filed and she was sent to jail today (Thursday) by the court.
