International Desk: At least 15 people died in a fire in a night club in Russia. The news agency AFP reported on Saturday that the incident took place in the country’s Kostroma city.
Russian news agency Tass reported the fire started after a drunken man set off a ‘flare gun’ on the bar’s dance floor. The bar called ‘Polygon’ was burnt down. The drunk man was hanging out with a woman at the club. He asked to bring flowers for the woman with a flare gun in hand. He then went to the dance floor and opened fire.
Authorities said the fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. local time and was brought under control around 7:30 a.m.
Governor Sergei Sitnikov had earlier reported 13 deaths. Emergency services later said the remains of two more people were found.
