Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought international recognition of March 25, National Genocide Day. He said this in his opening speech at the Awami League Parliamentary Nomination Board meeting on Saturday (March 25).
At around 11:30 a.m., the meeting was held at Ganobhaban, the Prime Minister’s official residence.It was presided over by Sheikh Hasina, president of the Parliamentary Nomination Board of the Awami League.
In his speech on the occasion of National Genocide Day, the Prime Minister mentioned the atrocities of Pakistani invaders. He demanded recognition of National Genocide Day on March 25, including from the United Nations.
The Prime Minister said that the sacrifice of millions of people for an independent and sovereign Bangladesh cannot go in vain. The country will move forward by becoming developed and prosperous.
Later, in the meeting of the parliamentary board, the Awami League finalized Noman Al Mahmud as the party candidate for the Chittagong 8-seat by-election.
