A Rohingya youth was killed in a shooting in Ukhia

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: A 27-year-old Rohingya youth was killed in a shooting by Ukhiyar in Cox’s Bazar. The incident took place in the Camp 12 G-7 area of Ukhiyar at around 7 p.m. on Saturday (March 18).
 
Deceased Hafez Mahbub is the son of Syed Amin of Block/D-9 of Rohingya Camp No. 19 of Ukhia.

According to the relatives, Sheikh Mohammad Ali, OC of Ukhia police station, said that on Saturday evening, an armed group of six people fired two rounds at Mahbub and fled from the scene. He was shot in the chest. Later, the locals rescued Mahbub, who had been shot, and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead.

The OC said that the deceased Mahbub was vocal against terrorist activities in the camp. He assisted the administration in various works.

The police officer said that the terrorists could kill him because of this.
