Dhaka Bureau: The government has threatened the sovereignty of the country by taking away the right to vote. Looting has almost bankrupted the country’s banking system. Laundering money has created economic disaster in the country. 50 years of the constitution, this constitution could not establish the rights and dignity of the people but gave rise to dictatorship. So this constitution should be reformed and a new political arrangement should be established. Today Friday (November 04) at 3 pm in front of Shahbagh National Museum on the occasion of 2 decades of struggle of mass solidarity movement and 7 years of its debut as a political party, ‘Strengthening the movement for the resignation of the government and the fall of fascism’ and ‘Demand for building greater unity of the people for the suffrage and the democratic transformation of the state’. He said this while addressing the gathering.
He said, without a new political settlement, the country will go towards more disaster. The political power of the people must be elected to run the state to save the country from total disaster. We started the struggle to establish the rights of the masses, to change the regime. Our struggle will continue until the victory of the people is achieved.
Abul Hasan Rubel said, “This government is a vote-robbering government, a government that stops people from speaking, a government that smuggles money, a government that tells lies, a government that intimidates, this government is a tyrannical government.” People everywhere are rising up against the tyrannical government. A few days ago, the government used to say that they will make Bangladesh like Canada and Singapore. But now they say there is no need to light the lamp during the day. The Prime Minister is talking about lighting the candlestick.
He also said that due to the food available in Bangladesh, there is no possibility of famine here. Famine does not happen because of lack of food, famine happens when there is no democracy, famine happens when people don’t have money in their pockets. So we have to build an all-out movement against this tyrannical government.
Dewan Abdur Rashid Neelu said that the people are not good, the government is good, the ministers are good. Ministers are building a future there by smuggling money abroad. But the government is not taking any responsibility of the people.
Taslima Akhtar said that the workers are not getting a living wage. Neither men nor women are getting rights. Women are more oppressed. Chakma Marma, Bam, Santal, Mandi, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim are many ethnic groups, but the government is profiting by creating division. For this country to belong to all, we must all fight for the establishment of human rights.
Speakers in the rally said that the mass solidarity movement has been talking about farmers, workers and hardworking people since its inception. Talking about oppressed ethnicities. Our main goal now is to establish democracy and voting rights in the country.
Speakers also said, we do not want to see famine in the country. The Awami League government that is causing famine must be dismissed. We will fight against tyranny. I will fight against those who have turned people’s lives into rafts.
The speakers said that the current fascist government is afraid of losing the mattress if they see the march-meeting of the opposition party. The police and party thugs harassed and shot at the democratic and fair programs of the anti-government parties. Limitless corruption and money laundering have eaten up the reserves of the country. In the name of so-called development, the rivers, mountains, forests and water bodies are occupied and destructive projects are being carried out. MP-ministers, party leaders and those close to the government commit crimes but they are not prosecuted. On the one hand, not the country’s money is being handed to the owners of six power plants, but on the other hand, the whole country is under the grip of terrible load shedding. Since this government has been forced into power by stealing votes, it has no responsibility towards the people. They are trying to get back into power by holding foreigners in their hands. But that hope will be crushed. People across the country are waking up in protest against the Awami fascist government. We started the fight to change this unaccountable monopolistic regime. The fall of fascism is inevitable in the face of the collective awakening of the masses.
The rally was chaired by public leader Jonaid Saki, the chief coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement, and the central executive coordinator of the Mass Solidarity Movement, Abul Hasan Rubel, members of the political council, Dewan Abdur Rashid Neelu, Hasan Maruf Rumi, Taslima Akhtar, Monir Uddin Pappu, Aditaram-Lee members Bachchu Bhuiyan, Deepak Roy, Imrad Zulkarnain Imon, Tariqul Sujan, central members Saikat Mallik, Anjan Das, Uba Twai Marma, Apurba Nath, SM Amjad Hossain, Mizanur Rahman Mollah, Alif Dewan, central president of Bangladesh Students Federation Moshiur Rahman Khan Richard, central member of Bangladesh Garment Sramik Saghati Babul Hussain.
