Travel ban extended to four upazilas of Bandarban till November 8

Bashir Ahmed, Bandarban Correspondent: This matter was informed through a mass notification issued today Friday (November 04) signed by Bandarban District Commissioner Yachmin Parveen Tibriji. The Bandarban district administration has extended the temporary ban on travel to Ruma, Rowangchari, Alikadam and Thanchi upazilas of Bandarban till November 8 due to security reasons.

It is said in the circular that considering the safety of tourists, the travel ban for local and foreign tourists has been increased in four upazilas. Earlier, due to the joint operation against terrorists in the border area of ​​Ruma and Rowangchhari upazilas of Bandarban and the border area of ​​Barathli Union of Bilaichhari upazila of Rangamati, the administration banned travel to these two upazilas for an indefinite period.

After that, travel was banned in two more upazilas, Thanchi and Alikadam from October 23 to October 30. The travel ban was later extended till November 4. This is the fourth time the travel ban has been issued through a new notification on Friday.
