Dhaka Bureau: Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir blamed the government’s failure for the blasts in Chittagong and capital Dhaka. He said incidents like the explosion at the oxygen factory in Chittagong’s Sitakunda are happening again and again because the government agencies have failed to fulfill their responsibilities. He said that the organizations whose responsibility is to see whether the buildings and factories are running properly, comply with the rules, are causing such loss of life due to their failure.
The BNP Secretary General made this comment to reporters after a meeting with the Democratic Left Alliance on Sunday (March 5). The BNP Secretary General expressed his condolences to the victims of the Chittagong and Dhaka blasts and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
‘Communal crisis in Panchgarh created by the government’
Mirza Fakhrul said, an extreme communal incident was done in Panchagarh yesterday. Two people were killed, shops and houses were looted and set on fire. Our question is, why the government kept silent on such a controversial issue? Why was the permission to hold a rally there or when the attack happened later, why did the police stand and watch it, why were they not able to resist it? This is creating communal problems, creating discord – this is what the government is creating. We think they are doing it very badly.
He also said that when the people of the country started the democratic movement, they started struggling for their rights, when the price of the goods went beyond the purchasing power of the people, when people are vocal about this, they are marching. When the political parties came to the streets. Then to make such a diversion, only to confuse the public mind, to divert the democratic movement by creating such sectarianism.
We hold the government fully responsible for this incident. They should be held accountable and those responsible for this incident should be brought out and punished.

This is what people are saying now. You have seen how the government has disputed the results of the primary scholarship a few days ago. It has created a chaotic situation in the classroom starting from children in primary school.
He commented, we have come here to discuss with BNP, this discussion has resulted. We will continue our simultaneous movement on the streets until the government falls.
