Khulna Correspondent: Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialist Hospital Assistant Professor Dr. Plastic Surgery Department Satkhira Sadar Police Station Assistant Inspector (ASI) Naimuzzaman Sheikh has been withdrawn in connection with the attack on Sheikh Nishat Abdullah.
He was locked up at the district police lines on Wednesday, March 1, at 8 p.m. Satkhira Additional Superintendent of Police Sajib Khan said that the matter is under investigation.
Meanwhile, the doctors’ strike continued for the second day on Thursday (March 2) as well.
Khulna District Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) President Dr. Sheikh Baharul Alam said that the next decision will be announced after the doctors’ meeting around 11 o’clock on Wednesday.
On February 25 (Saturday), police ASI Naeem and his companions entered the operation theater of Haque Nursing Home in the Sheikhpara area of the city, complaining of wrong treatment. Sheikh Nishat beat Abdullah. Besides, they vandalized the operation theater. Dr. Nishat is currently undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, she is accusing Dr. Nishat Abdullah and the managing director of Hoque Nursing Home. A case has been filed against Nurul Haque Fakir under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act. Nusrat Ara Maina, wife of ASI Naimuzzaman Sheikh, filed the case at the city’s Sonadanga police station on Tuesday (February 28) night as the plaintiff.
