Dhaka Bureau: The Mirpur 10 station of the Metrorail was opened today, Wednesday, March 1. It was the fifth Metrorail station to open.
Earlier, Uttara North, Agargaon, Pallabi, and Uttara Center stations were launched. The journey of five metro rail stations began with the opening of Mirpur-10 station.
As a result, the Uttara-Agargaon section will now have only four stations: Uttara Dakshin, Mirpur, Kazipara, and Sheorapara.
At the office of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the managing director of the organization, Man Chiddik, said that Mirpur-10 station has been opened as of today. Apart from this, the rest of the stations in the Uttara-Agargaon section, i.e., all 9 stations, will be commissioned within the month of March.
According to MAN Siddique, train suspension will begin at all stations in March.And train traffic will resume in full force in July.Then the metro trains will run from dawn until midnight.
According to DMTCL, passenger movement started at Mirpur 10 metro station at 8:30 a.m. The station had opened for passengers half an hour earlier, at 8 a.m.
On December 28, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the section of the 21-kilometer Udal railway line from Uttara (Diabari) to Agargaon. From the day after the inauguration, commercial operation of the metro rail system in Dhaka started with ordinary passengers.
