Dhaka Bureau: Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero has arrived in Dhaka on a two-day visit. He landed in Dhaka on Monday (February 27) morning.
Cafiero is expected to announce the country’s mission (consulate) during his visit to Dhaka. Besides, three memoranda of understanding may be signed to increase cooperation between the two countries.
On February 9, Sehli Sabreen, the spokesperson for Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the weekly media briefing that during the foreign minister’s visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. AK Abdul Momen, and leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries would meet.
Incidentally, the frenzy of the people of Bangladesh over Argentina during the World Cup in Qatar caught the attention of the Latin American country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent a letter to the country’s President Alberto Fernandez congratulating him on winning the World Cup. In response to the congratulatory message, the Argentine President wrote a letter thanking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
