Natore Correspondent: RAB has arrested Tamim Hossain (19), the main accused in the gang rape case of a schoolgirl in Sadar Upazila of Natore. Tamim Natore, the arrested man, is the son of Abul Kalam Azad of the Sadar police station’s Chanpur area.
On Saturday, February 18, he was apprehended in Rajshahi’s Kathalbaria neighborhood around 1 p.m.Additional Superintendent of Police Farhad Hossain confirmed the matter in a press release.
He met the victim schoolgirl on Facebook about a year ago.They were in love for one year. Following this, he brought the girl to Chanpur in Natore on the 7th of February by tempting her to get married. Tamim and his friends gang-raped the victim throughout the night in an art garden in the Chanpur area.Later on February 8, around 5 a.m., the victim was handed over to Abdul Majeed. Majid also took her to a house and gang-raped her. Later, when he came to Bonbelghoria to board the bus to Rajshahi, the locals informed the police after seeing his condition. The police came and rescued him. Later, when the father of the victim schoolgirl filed a case, the police immediately arrested Abdul Majeed and Sirajul Islam.
According to the press release, the accused Tamim was apprehended by a RAB team in the Kathalbaria area of Kashiadanga police station in Rajshahi metropolis on the basis of information technology and intelligence information. The operation was conducted by Company Commander Additional Superintendent of Police Farhad Hossain, Acting Company Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Sarkar, and Deputy Commander Assistant Superintendent of Police Rafiqul Islam.
