A farmer was hacked to death over a quarrel over tubewell water

Kushtia Correspondent: In Kushtia’s Mirpur, a farmer was allegedly hacked to death due to a dispute over tubewell water. The incident took place in Kachudah village, Fulbaria Union of Upazila, around 5 p.m. on Saturday (February 18).

Deceased Abdul Mannan Mondal (45), son of deceased Makkel Mondal of Sakaripara area of Barkhada Union of Sadar Upazila, was a farmer by profession.

Mannan’s wife, Jubaida Khatun, said that Feroze, a neighbor, was attacked while taking a bath in tubewell water on Saturday afternoon. At that time, they killed my husband by hacking him with a knife.

Rashedul Alam, OC of Mirpur police station, said that a man named Abdul Mannan was killed in Hansuar Kope of neighboring Feroze in a dispute over tubewell water. The body is in the hospital. However, the accused has not yet been arrested in this incident.
