Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: The BGB has seized 1 kg, 353 grams of crystal meth (ice) in the Teknaf Jaliya island estuary of Cox’s Bazar. The market value of seized crystal meth is 6 crore, 76 lakh, and 73 thousand taka.
BGB-2 commander Lt. Col. Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Iftekhar confirmed the matter on Sunday morning (February 19).
He said, based on secret information, a shipment of drugs from Myanmar may enter Bangladesh. On this news, BGB conducted an operation in the Jaliar Island estuary of Teknaf on Saturday night. At that time, two people left a wooden boat and fled towards Myanmar. Later, the boat was searched, and 1 kg (353 g) of crystal meth (ice) was seized.
Besides, 10 kg of yarn net and a wooden boat used for transporting drugs were recovered.
