Dhaka Bureau: Today is Saturday, Meraj, holy shave.Tonight, devout Muslims will celebrate Shaba Meraj in mosques, at home, or in various institutions of the followers of Islam by reciting the Quran, Zikir-Ajgar, and Ibadat-Bandegi, seeking the mercy of Almighty God. On this occasion, the Islami Foundation has organized a discussion meeting and special prayers. In addition, Nafal Namaz and special prayers have been organized in the mosque tonight.
The night of Meraj has special significance in Islam. One of the best events in the life of Rasulullah (S) took place on this night. The 27th Rajab night is called Shave Meraj. On this night, the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) traveled in the upper sky under special arrangements and met Allah.
The Arabic word “Meraj” means to ascend, to travel by air, to ascend, etc. Lailatul Meraj means “Night of Ascension.” At the age of 50, the founder of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), while awake on the 27th night of the month of Rajab, passed from Masjid Haram to Masjid Al-Aqsa, then to Al-Aqsa, and then to Arshe Azim, and received the vision of Allah.
The journey of the holy Meraj starts from Masjid Haram. Hazrat Jibraeel (A.S.) carried the Prophet to Baitul Moqaddas through Bora. There, he prayed two rakats. In that prayer, the Prophet (PBUH) led all the prophets. Then he traveled into the sky. On the journey, in each heaven, the honored prophets of the past are met. After that, Sidratul Muntaha met Almighty Allah in Arshe Azim. On the night of Holy Meraj, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) saw heaven and hell with his own eyes. He witnessed the punishment of many sins. He observed the immense mysteries of the creation world, including traveling the vast celestial sphere, seeing the Arsh-Kursi, etc. The law of prayer was written on this night.
On the occasion of the Holy Shave-Miraj celebration today at 1:30 PM, the Islamic Foundation will hold a discussion meeting and offer special prayers on the topic of “the importance and significance of Holy Shave Meraj” at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. The discussion will be chaired by the Director General of the Islamic Foundation. Bashirul Alam, chairman of the Arabic Department at Dhaka University, will be the speaker. Md. Abdul Qadir
