Sylhet was shaken by the earthquake

Sylhet representative: Several areas of Bangladesh, including Sylhet, were shaken by the earthquake in Meghalaya, India. The magnitude of the tremor, which occurred at 9:56 a.m., was 4.3 on the Richter scale.

According to the USGS, the quake occurred at a depth of 64.8 km below the surface.

No damage or casualties were reported as a result of the earthquake.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 11.5 km northeast of Chatak in Sylhet, 26.7 km north-northeast of Sylhet city, and 21.7 km south-southwest of Cherrapunji in Meghalaya.

The origin of the earthquake was 64.8 km below the surface.

It is reported that the earthquake lasted for 4-5 seconds. At this time, the common people came out of their houses in fear and came down to the streets. However, there was no immediate damage information available in the mild earthquake.
