Gazipur Correspondent: A case has been registered after a woman (41) was gang-raped in the Ghazaria area under the jurisdiction of Gazipur Sadar police station. Police have arrested three youths in that case. The accused were sent to jail by the court on Tuesday (February 7) afternoon.
The arrested are Mosaddek Hossain alias Apu (32), son of Kabir Hossain of Ghazaria area of Gazipur Sadar police station, Hriday Mia (20), son of Habibur Rahman of Deur village of Phulpur police station of Mymensingh, and Naeem Islam (18), son of Rafiqul Islam of Biara village of Trishal upazila of the same district.
According to the statement in the case and police sources, the woman was working as a security guard in a garment manufacturing factory in Gazipur district. Two months ago, when his mother fell ill, he moved to the village. Later, he came back and found that he did not have a job. On the morning of February 4, the woman went to a factory in the Bhavanipur area in search of a job. On the way back home, a local scoundrel named Mosaddek Hossain alias Apu grabbed the woman’s face and dragged her into the bushes of Ghazari Forest, where she was raped.After the rape, Apu called two more people on the phone. Later, they also raped the woman and recorded the video on her mobile phone. Later, the accused left, threatening not to tell anyone about the incident.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gazipur Sadar Police Station Ziaul Islam said that the victim has filed a lawsuit as a plaintiff. In the wake of that, three people were arrested on Monday night. A video of the rape was also found on the mobile phone. The accused have been sent to jail by the court.
