Bashir Ahmed, Bandarban representative: The construction of Bhangamura Para Buddhist Vihar was inaugurated by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board at a cost of Tk 1 crore 25 lakhs. Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh has commented that the development of hills has continued during the Awami League government. Today Friday (03 February) morning, he made this comment while attending a discussion meeting to inaugurate various development works in Bhangamura Para of Kuhlang Union No. 2 of Bandarban.
Bir Bahadur said that the Awami League government has signed a peace agreement to establish peace in the hills, various development works are being done including construction of schools, colleges, mosques, temples, Buddhist monasteries, roads in different upazilas to improve the quality of life of the people in the hills, as a result of which the massive development of the hill districts is visible.
The hill minister also said that many of the BNP were in power in Bandarban earlier, but they only filled their own pockets and did not pay any attention to the education, health and development of the area. But under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the current Awami League government, Pawartya area is now moving forward in the progress of development.
The minister said that along with the expansion of the tourism industry in the hilly district, the various formalin-free fruits produced in this area are reaching different parts of the country easily and the local residents are becoming financially independent a hundred times than before. The hill minister also urged the common people to stand by the Awami League to play a role in the development of Bandarban district and the progress of the country in the future and to build a smart Bangladesh.
After the meeting, Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh distributed various materials including 100 blankets to protect the local residents from winter, 20 spray machines as agricultural aids, 10 goats for self-employment of poor women.
Earlier, the Minister inaugurated the construction work of Bhangamura Para Buddhist Vihar, the construction work of Bhangamura Para School Dormitory and the construction work of Bhangamura Para Buddhist Vihar Deshana Ghar, implemented by the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board at a cost of Tk 1 crore 25 lakh.
