Army Chief calls upon all members of the Corps to be ready to face the challenges of the 21st century

Press release: The annual captains conference of Bangladesh Army Engineers Corps-2022 was held on Tuesday (November 01) morning at the Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering in Natore’s Kadirabad cantonment. Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, SBP, OSP, NDU, PSC, Ph.D. was present as the chief guest in the conference.

The Chief of Army Staff gave an opening speech to the Chief of Engineers Corps and other officers present at the Annual Commander’s Conference and exchanged views on the development of the Corps, increasing professional skills and various activities conducted at home and abroad.

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed said that the Corps of Engineers has a glorious tradition, recalled the contribution of this Corps in the service of the country and urged all the members of this Corps to be always ready to face the challenges of the 21st century through modern and up-to-date training.

Besides, he visited various facilities of Bangladesh Army University of Engineering and Technology and Engineer Center and School in Kadirabad.

The Chief of Army Staff’s presence at the annual Commanders’ Conference of the Corps of Engineers reiterated the commitment to create new enthusiasm among the members of the Corps and to set a unique example of service to the country in the days to come among each member of the Corps.

In the conference, Adjutant General of the Army Major General Md. Moshfequr Rahman, SGP, SUP, NDC, PSC; Managing Director, Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Major General Sultanuzzaman Md Saleh Uddin, OSP, SGP, NDC; Engineer-in-Chief Major General Muhammad Jubair Saleheen, SUP, NDU, PSC and General Officer Commanding (GOC), 11 Infantry Division and Area Commander Bogra Area Major General Md. Khaled-Al-Mamun, PBGM, NDC, PSC and Chairman, Army Welfare Organization Major Senior military officers including General Iftekhar Anis, BSP, AWC, AFWC, PSC, PNG were present.

The Army Chief laid wreaths at the ‘Smriti Amlan’ erected in honor of the martyrs at Qadirabad cantonment and planted trees to commemorate the day. Later, he participated in the banquet organized on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering.
