Ward No. 3 BNP President Shahjahan Monir died of cancer at 9:30 on Thursday night.
His Janaza and Burial were completed at around 11 am on Friday in the field adjacent to Central Jame Masjid, South Laxcharchar Sikdarpara of Chakaria Municipality. In the evening, Shahjahan Monir’s wife Rushni Jannat gave birth to a girl at Max Hospital in Chakaria town.
Shahjahan Monir was diagnosed with liver cancer a few months ago. A doctor at a hospital in Hyderabad, India advised him to undergo chemotherapy. After returning to the country, he took six chemotherapy in Chittagong. When the situation worsened, he was taken back to Hyderabad. He returned home on Tuesday on the advice of the doctors there.
Rushni Jannat got married with Shah Jahan on 27 January 2019. Rushni Jannat said, they have another two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. He is worried about how to run a family with two daughters. Because the only earner in their family is Shahjahan Monir.
Shahjahan Monir was General Secretary of Chakaria Municipal Chhatra Dal and General Secretary of Chakaria College Chhatra Dal.
