Dhaka Bureau: Bangladesh has condemned the burning of the Quran near a mosque in Copenhagen, Denmark. In a statement on Saturday (January 28), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the incident.

The statement said, Bangladesh is once again expressing deep concern over the heinous incident of insulting the values and religious symbols of Muslims around the world. Bangladesh urges everyone to refrain from such unreasonable incitement and Islamophobia for the sake of harmony and peaceful coexistence.

Incidentally, on Friday, the Koran was burned near the Copenhagen Mosque and in front of the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. An anti-Muslim activist spearheaded the incident. Earlier, Rasmus Paludan protested by burning Quran in Sweden on January 21. He is a Danish and Swedish citizen at the same time. Several Muslim countries of the world, including Turkey, reacted strongly to that incident.
