Dhaka Bureau: The 90-year-old widow of the brave freedom fighter, Jinnat Ara Ayesha, said, “My last time to die has come.” I still can’t believe I’m alive. I think it would be better to die. Then today would not have seen this day. And I would not appear to you. Having come to you with much sorrow, I have to complain today against those whom I have conceived. Those of you who have attended, you have heard of parents being kicked out of the house for the greed of possessions. Today I am the best example of that.

My husband, the brave freedom fighter Abdul Bari, registered a property in my name in Hatirpool before his death. I built a 10-storey building through the developer with that property with my children. Before the building was completed, they occupied different flats of their own. That’s why I still haven’t received my dues of more than 1 crore rupees from the developer company. I later moved into a flat with my younger daughter. Just because I did not write in their name, today the flat where I was staying was broken into and looted. When I went up to my flat, my children and grandchildren hit on me.

I am already very sick, then how can I bear this injury. I cannot accept this at all. I am here today so that no other mother is in danger like this. I seek remedy through you. I want intervention of Prime Minister, Home Minister. The OC of Kalabagan police station asked me to compromise with some money. But when I complained against him to the DC, he sent me to the OC. What kind of law is this? I have to go to the one who sought justice. Will I get a fair trial? I am a helpless mother, wife of a freedom fighter. Look at me humanely.

He said these things seeking the intervention of the Honorable Prime Minister on the initiative of the Bangladesh National Human Rights Association in front of the National Press Club at 11 am on Monday, January 23, 2023. Chairman of the National Human Rights Association, Md. Manjur Hossain, expressed solidarity with Isa’s chairmanship and spoke, expecting the president of Bangladesh, Abdul Al-Mamun.

President Md. Manjur Hossain Isa said in his speech, “Last 5 days ago, I went to the spot and saw that the boys and girls occupied the flat after beating the old mother. Kalabagan police did not cooperate. Jinnat Ara Ayesha Khatun, the widow of the brave freedom fighter Abdul Bari, 90 years old, was killed by her own name. Holding and own flat from 23 Free School Street, Hathirpool, Kalabagan.

In a written complaint to the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the Police Commissioner, on December 23, in their absence, his daughter Hasina Begum, grandson Hosne Ara Rosi, daughter Fatema Begum broke into the house and looted Tk. , son Abdul Khalek, grandson Aliullah Ranjan, granddaughter Rozi and 4 other grandchildren. The video footage of the CCTV camera was destroyed by Rezaul Karim, an IT expert who was close to Fatema Begum.

In this regard, they went to the Kalabagan police station and the local councilor and they did not get any remedy. His younger daughter Mosa made a written complaint to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Home Minister, Police Commissioner and Deputy Police Commissioner. Nasima Begum
