Own Correspondent: The opening ceremony of the 3-day long 4th Chittagong IT Fair-2023 was held today Saturday (January 21) at noon at the World Trade Center, jointly organized by The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Society of Chittagong IT Professionals (SCITP).

Under the chairmanship of Chamber President Mahbubul Alam, Chief Guest Education Deputy Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury MP, Chamber Senior Vice President Tarafdar Md Ruhul Amin and Society of IT Professionals President Abdullah Farid and Unique Business Systems Ltd General Manager Md Zakir Hossain spoke.

At that time, Chamber directors Md. Ahid Siraj Chowdhury (Swapan), Zahirul Islam Chowdhury (Alamgir), Md. Iftekhar Faisal, Mohammad Adnanul Islam and Tanveer Mostafa Chowdhury, former directors Mahfuzul Haque Shah and Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury, F-5, the platinum sponsor of the fair, among others. Gold Sponsor BenQ, Silver Sponsor Aerodeck, Velocity & Sophos, Technology Partner Length Three and representatives of 37 participating organizations, business leaders from various sectors and invited guests were present.

Chief Guest Education Deputy Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury MP said that government’s Digital Bangladesh concept is now popular. Digital Bangladesh has been realized as a result of modern technology and digitization in all areas. The aim of the current government is to make it a smart Bangladesh. IT sector has the most role for this.

He also said that the business sector needs to be brought under automation. For this reason, he called upon the workers to be made efficient through agreements with various higher education institutions of Chittagong.

Chamber president Mahbubul Alam said that the ICT sector is playing a major role in the national economy, which is a major example of e-commerce companies. In order to turn the implemented digital Bangladesh into a smart Bangladesh, smart human resources must be developed. For this reason, he emphasized on developing human resources based on knowledge and intelligence along with the IT sector.

Chamber Senior Vice President Tarafdar Md. Ruhul Amin said, Chittagong Chamber has organized the 4th Chittagong IT Fair in the last few years for the expansion of IT sector which is one of the future foreign exchange earnings of the country. This will open up new horizons among investors, SME entrepreneurs, IT professionals and young entrepreneurs in this sector.

Abdullah Farid, president of SCITP, said that the expansion of IT in business has not yet been completed. He called on the Chittagong Chamber to play a role in bringing businesses to 100% digitization.

After the official inauguration, Chief Guest Education Deputy Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury MP visited various stalls in the fair.

Note that this fair will be open for visitors from 10 am to 9 pm every day till January 23.
