Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the historic Homecoming Day.

On Tuesday (January 10) at 8:30 am, he paid tribute to the portrait of the father of the nation at 32 Dhanmondi.

On the occasion of the day, various parties and organizations including Awami League and its affiliated organizations have taken extensive programs.

Apart from this, a discussion meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Bangabandhu International Conference Center at 3 pm.

After the victory in the liberation war, the Pakistani government was forced to release Bangabandhu on January 8, 1972 under the pressure of world public opinion. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman returned to independent and sovereign Bangladesh on January 10, 1972 via London and New Delhi after being imprisoned in Pakistan for 9 and a half months.
