19 people were shot dead in a clash between two sides in Sirajganj

Sirajganj Correspondent: In Sirajganj, two sides clashed, 30 people were injured, including 19 people shot. In this incident, a licensed gun was seized and the young man Arif was arrested.

The clash took place on Monday (January 9) in the afternoon at Baaitara village of Saidabad Union of Sadar Upazila over a trivial incident.

Those who were shot were Shafiqul, Shahadat, Imdadul, Faridul, Rabbi, Rafi, Abdul Baset, Milon, Tota Mia, Zahid, Abdul Wahab, Nais, Abdul Barek, Shaheen, Omar, Shafiqul Hazrat and Salim of Baitara village. They have been admitted to Sirajganj 250-bed Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital. Arrested Arif Hossain is the son of Abdul Hai of the same village.

According to the police and witnesses, last Saturday morning, Rubel, the son of Hekmat of the same village, beat the deed writer Alam Hossain, son of Hazrat Ali of Baitara village, on the basis of lifting a land document. As a result of that incident, the clash between the two sides started from Monday morning.

At that time, both parties chased and threw bricks. At one point, Arif started firing with his licensed gun on behalf of the Rubel group. 19 people were shot. At least 12 others were injured in the clash.

Sadar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md. Nannu Khan said that the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The shooter has been taken into police custody and his licensed gun has been seized.

Sirajganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md. Rezwanul Islam said that there was an incident of chasing and throwing bricks. Fired from a licensed single barrel gun. At present the situation is normal.
