Dhaka Bureau: Fugitive accused Md Khandkar sentenced to life in Biswajit murder case. Yunush Ali alias Yunush (36) has been arrested by the law and order forces after almost 10 years. RAB-2 arrested him from Kellapur of Narayanganj on Monday midnight. Khandaker Md. Yunuch Ali alias Yunuch’s home is in Sadar Upazila of Magura.
On Tuesday (November 1) morning, RAB-2 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Senior ASP Md. Fazlul Haque gave this information.
He said that on December 9, 2012, a group of miscreants brutally hacked Biswajit Das, an employee of a tailor shop, to death near Bahadur Shah Park in the capital. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) filed a charge sheet accusing 21 people in the murder case. At the end of the judicial proceedings, on December 18, 2013, Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 awarded death sentence to 8 of the 21 accused and life imprisonment to 13.
Arrested Khandaker. Yunus Ali alias Yunus was sentenced to life imprisonment by a lower court but was absconding. Later, in 2017, the High Court upheld the life sentence of the accused Khandkar Yunus Ali, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case. Khondkar Yunus Ali was absconding even when the judgment was announced in the High Court.
