Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mentioned that the addition of metro rail to the capital’s public transport has taken the communication system a step further. He said, Metrorail is our wealth. But like the Padma Bridge, there were hurdles in constructing this metro rail which we were able to overcome.
He said this in the opening speech of the cabinet meeting on Monday (January 9) at noon.
Referring to the character of some people in the country who obstructed every work, Sheikh Hasina said that not only the Padma bridge but also the metro rail was obstructed. Thinking negatively in everything and hindering work is the characteristic problem of some people in the country.
The Prime Minister said that an underpass will be constructed from the airport station to the airport to ease traffic congestion in the airport area. Metrorail users should proceed with caution. The State should understand the importance of this resource.
