Own Correspondent: Bangladesh has changed in the past fourteen years under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh is now a land of metro rail, padma bridge, tunnels under the river. Bangladesh is now a country that stands tall in the court of the world. Practiced as a model of development in the world-Bangladesh is such a country. Today Sunday (January 08) at Chittagong Press Club’s Bangabandhu Hall, Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud expressed this optimism.

In the meeting, General Secretary of Kolkata Press Club, Kingsuk Pramanik said, seeing the unprecedented development and prosperity of Bangladesh in all fields, it is understood that no one could keep Bangladesh under control. This progress of changed Bangladesh is considered as a model in the world.

Chittagong Press Club presided over this discussion meeting club president Md. Salauddin. Reza. Deputy Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman, Calcutta Press Club President Snehasish Sur, Assam Journalist Leader Manoj Kumar Goswami, Chittagong Press Club Former President Ali Abbas, Senior Vice President Chowdhury Farid, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists Vice President Shahidul Alam, Chittagong Journalist spoke among others. Union president Tapan Chakraborty, general editor. Shamsul Islam, Press Club General Secretary Devdulal Bhowmik and others.

The information minister said that Bangladesh’s friendly relations with India have reached new heights. There has been a lot of expansion in the business of the two countries.

He said that the people of India have sacrificed a lot in the great freedom struggle of Bangladesh. Indian soldiers fought with the freedom fighters. He gave chest blood. So Bangladesh-India relations are bound by blood ties. This bond will always be unbreakable. If there is a barbed wire fence between the two countries due to geographical reasons, the love of the people of the two countries is one and the same. A barbed wire fence cannot mark love.
The two press club leaders exchanged mementos on the occasion. At this time, Indian journalists handed over several research books and publications written by them on Bangabandhu and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the minister.

Earlier in the morning, when the Indian journalist team arrived at Chittagong Airport, they were welcomed by the senior officials of all departments under the Ministry of Information under the leadership of Mir Hossain Ahsanul Kabir, Deputy Chief Information Officer of Chittagong PID. Meanwhile, the Minister of Information, who arrived in the same plane with them, was also welcomed.

There are 34 senior journalists including 25 from Calcutta Press Club and 9 from Assam Press Club in this group of Indian journalists.

Later, the visiting journalist team went to visit the Karnaphuli tunnel from the airport. Project Director of Karnaphuli Tunnel. Harunur Rashid Chowdhury welcomed the journalists at the mouth of the tunnel. Later he briefed them about their tunnel activities there.

The project director said that 95.5 percent of the work of Karnaphuli tunnel has been completed. Now the last minute activities are going on. He expressed hope that the tunnel will be opened for traffic by next March after all the works are completed.

The visiting journalists were surprised to see this large and beautiful tunnel through the bottom of Kharsrota Karnaphuli. A few are highly praised.
They said that Bangladesh has come a long way in the past few years and cannot be believed without seeing it. Kolkata has a small tunnel for metro but not as big as Karnaphuli. They asked various questions and got informed about the tunnel in detail.

The journalist team visited the beautiful Marine Drive along the banks of the Karnaphuli River and the ongoing construction of the Bay-Terminal. The delegation was amazed to see these development activities. They are different
