Determination of car toll rate in Bangabandhu Tunnel

Own Correspondent: The Bangladesh Bridge Authority has determined the list of how much toll a vehicle will have to pay to travel through the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Tunnel under construction on the Karnaphuli river in Chittagong. According to this list, you have to pay 200 to 1000 taka per car. This rate of toll proposed by the bridge authority received the approval of Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on December 20, which is awaiting the approval of the Finance Ministry.

According to the toll fixed by the bridge authority, private cars, jeeps and pickups have to pay Tk 200 each. At Shah Amanat Bridge, you have to pay Tk 75 for private cars and Tk 100 for jeeps. And if you want to go inside the tunnel, you have to pay Tk 250 for the microbus. This rate is Tk 100 at Shah Amanat Bridge. 300 for buses with 31 or less seats and Tk 400 for 32 or more seats. Although taken at Shah Amanat Bridge 50 and 155 taka respectively.

Besides, 5 ton truck, 5 to 8 ton truck, 5 to 8 ton truck, 8 to 11 ton truck has to pay 600 taka toll. However, the toll taken at Shah Amanat Bridge is Tk 130, Tk 200 and Tk 300 respectively. Trailer (four axle) toll is fixed at Rs.1000. This rate is Tk 750 at Shah Amanat Bridge. If there are more than four axles, you have to pay 200 taka for each axle.
