Dhaka Bureau: International Literary Festival ‘Dhaka Lit Fest’ will shine light in our art-literature-culture arena. It is a gathering of local and foreign artists, writers, thinkers. In this literary festival, creativity and thoughtfulness will develop through the exchange of mutual knowledge, experience and opinions. Today, Thursday (January 05) in the morning of the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of the capital’s Bangla Academy, the tenth ‘Dhaka Lit Fest-2023’ will be held for four days (January 05-08, 2023). Minister of State for Culture KM Khalid MP said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the International Literary Festival.
British-Tanzanian writer Abdulrazak Gurnah and prominent Indian Bengali writer Amitabh Ghosh spoke as honored guests in the event.
The chief guest said that the international literary festival ‘Dhaka Lit Fest’ has started again after three years due to the corona epidemic. That’s why I sincerely thank and congratulate the organizers along with the three directors of this festival.
The State Minister of Culture said that the Ministry of Culture was involved in the Dhaka Lit Fest from the beginning. Although not able to be involved this time, the ministry will sponsor the festival in the future.
Director of Dhaka Lit Fest-2023 Kazi Anis Ahmed and Ahsan Akbar gave a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Sadaf Say, one of the directors of ‘Dhaka Lit Fest-2023’ gave the welcome speech. Bangla Academy Director General Kavi Muhammad Nurul Huda was also present on the stage.
It should be noted that more than five hundred writers, artists and thinkers from five continents are participating in more than 175 sessions in the tenth edition of ‘Dhaka Lit Fest’.
