Dhaka Bureau: President Md expressed hope that the nation will move forward under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Abdul Hamid said that in order to speed up the country’s progress, let the nation move forward under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter, carrying the spirit of the liberation war and the ideals of the father of the nation, and the nation should work more unitedly on the path of building the prosperous ‘Golden Bangla’ of Bangabandhu, free from hunger and poverty.

The President made his call and expectations in his address to Parliament’s Winter Session on Thursday (January 5). The session is the 21st session of the 11th National Parliament and the first session of 2023. It was presided over by Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

The President said, we have achieved independent sovereign Bangladesh through a bloody people’s war under the undisputed leadership of the greatest Bengali father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In this independent sovereign country, the people are the source of all power and the center of all their hopes is the great National Parliament.

Addressing the public representatives, Abdul Hamid said, you are public representatives, so public interest should be given a place above everything else. It is our sacred duty to gift a safe, happy, beautiful and prosperous Bangladesh to the new generation. The Bengali nation must work more unitedly to establish an exploitation-free society by completely eradicating corruption, terrorism, drugs and militancy.
