Lohagara Representative: A discussion and prize distribution was held by the Lohagara Upazila administration of South Chittagong to promote quality education. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharif Ullah presided over the event held on Thursday afternoon on December 29. Prizes were distributed among the participants of the UNO meritorious student award competition at the discussion held at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium. Chittagong Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Muhammad Abu Raihan Dolan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Lohagara Upazila Parishad Chairman Ziaul Haque Chowdhury Babul, Vice Chairman M Ibrahim Kabir, Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Mohammad Shahjahan, Alhaj¦ Mostfizur Rahman College Principal AKM Fazlul Haque and Lohagara Press Club President Nurul Islam were special guests.
Upazila Secondary Education Officer Nurul Islam, Putibila UP Chairman said among others. Jahangir Hossain Manik, Golambari Government Model High School Headmaster Samshul Alam, Lohagara Shahpir Pilot High School Headmaster Abu Bakar and Lohagara Press Club Office Secretary Raihan Sikder among others.
Under the supervision of Lohagara Upazila Cooperative Officer Delwar Hossain, Lohagara Press Club General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, Joint Editor Puspen Chowdhury and Publicity Secretary Jahedul Islam among others, journalists working in the area, teachers and parents of various educational institutions and civil society people were present. At the end of the assembly, 60 successful candidates were awarded in the Lohagara UNO meritorious students competition.
Incidentally, the Lohagara UNO initiative has been held for the past 6/7 months with the participation of students from various educational institutions of the upazila in several stages of merit assessment tests. Prizes are arranged to encourage students who pass the examination.
